We, The KCBBQ Tour, would rather share what we are NOT about.
We are NOT a “party bus”. We have zero interest in loading you onto our buses and getting you drunk for four hours.
Though we do party! We host exciting adventures with culturally-filled memorable experiences for curious explorers of all things KANSAS CITY! That’s our rodeo show! We are the Original Barbecue Tour in town and all others have been modeled from here. But even our brewery, winery, distillery tours are geared towards the enjoyment of artisanal craftsmanship, not excessive inebriations. If you would like a designated driver with trauma from hearing the same jingle video on repeat, please call the other guys.
We are not just a tour, We are an Experience!
We are not robots and we don’t hate our jobs.
You won’t find an AI-inspired, small-screened, monotone video delivering history on our tours. Our guides are Kansas City Ambassadors by nature! They are your take home Kansas City connection. We’ve hired our guides from experienced Arts and Service Industries. They have passions for, and in Kansas City, themselves. Our tours are delivered with excitement and enthusiasm because that is just who we are! You walk on as strangers but all tours end leaving as friends.
We are not the “nuisance bus” and nobody goes home hungry!
To have long-lasting relationships, as we have with our restaurants, comes from treating our network neighborly and fairly. We are respectful and welcomed as so in all spaces! We pay fair prices and gratuities because we believe supporting local means “supporting” local. That may mean we are not the most inexpensive tour on the market, and that is ok. We pay livable wages and employ diversely and welcome guests as so. Transparently. All customers are expected to maintain a reasonable courtesy to their fellow tour mates and all staff throughout all tours. All guides reserve the right to remove anyone disrupting the safety, and/or enjoyment of their group and/or tour at any point and time.
We remain ethical and give credit where it is due.
The KC BBQ Tour will always feature 60% black-owned restaurants on public tours; as Barbecue, is coined a Black-owned invention and we believe giving credit where it is due. The KC BBQ Tour can feature approximately 10 various restaurants across the KC Metro at any given time in a single season. Restaurants have a rigorous vetting system to be approved and featured on The Kansas City Barbecue Tour including but not limited to: Is it historical? Is it good?
