Kansas City has many crowns; from the Royals to Crown Center. You have Hallmark, and of course, the triple-crowned-Chiefs! Kansas City is a royal kingdom with much pride and care for quality and community. We are a growing at a rapid rate that rivals a hormonal teenager; A big city with a small town mindset. Yet this city is still a community so well-knit, we could compare it to the Kevin Bacon 6th degree. You may not know the person in front of you, but you probably know someone they know.
Kansas City is not like LA, New York or Miami where the most enjoyable parts of KC are out in the open like an ocean, a beach or a big apple. It’s actually best if you know someone that knows someone to find the best and most unique, exciting and true “Kansas City” experiences.

Is it a local business? Or a Locally Operated establishment with sufficient community partnerships? Local Businesses feed families and create a closer network of community through industries and regions.
Does it deliver? A Dive Bar and a Fine Dining restaurant have different operations and of course, expectations. As well as the matter of fact that we don’t pit businesses against each other. In that spirit, we ask “Did they deliver what they were selling? If it’s Mexican food or Barbecue- was it good? Was the Service par to the establishment? Was the Cleanliness what was expected for that genre of business?” Did they do what they say they do?
Was it unique? Did it have some sort of way about business? The wide variety of Kansas City Culture shines through the artisanal craftsmanship, charm and personality of local businesses. Was the business unique to itself and or a unique testament and toast to Kansas City. Is it a place only KC would have?
By these three standards we give Three Crowns with a five-tier rating system gifted to each notable business we have discovered along our Tour Kansas City Routes! A crown at all is already a cut above. However we are looking for “wow” experiences. Not all locations in the directory have been awarded a crown however merit a mention. ALL the locations in this particular directory are a KC experience. There are many other places in the city unlisted here as well as we do not have your national chains listed here. We simply consider this directory a growing list of KC staples. Enjoy!
